Sony announced on Monday that it will close the native PlayStation Store service for its PlayStation Portable platform in North America on March 31. While the store will be inaccessible from PSP devices, players will still be able to make in-game purchases.
PSP content can still be purchased from the web-based PlayStation Store, and those who own products purchased from the Store can still re-download their products from the PSP's Download menu.
Sony previously announced that the Japanese PSP PlayStation Store will also close on the same date.
Sony launched the portable gaming system in 2004 and ended shipments in Japan in June 2014.
