3rd Monogatari 'Off Season' Novel Nademonogatari Slated for July 29

posted on by Karen Ressler

Amazon is listing that the newest book in NisiOisin's Monogatari series, Nademonogatari, is slated for July 28 in Japan. NisiOisin's official Twitter account also notes that the character Nadeko Sengoku will play a major role the story.

Nademonogatari is the third "Off Season" novel for the Monogatari series. The first two "Off Season" novels, Orokamonogatari and Wazamonogatari (pictured right), shipped in October and January, respectively. A fourth "Off Season" novel, Musubimonogatari, is also slated for 2016.

The Monogatari Series of light novels inspired a string of anime projects from director Akiyuki Simbo and the studio SHAFT. The last light novel volume in the Monogatari Series' "Final Season" had shipped in September 2014 with a teaser page for the "next season."

Vertical published the Kizumonogatari light novel in North America in December 2015, and plans to release the Bakemonogatari light novel series beginning this December. Aniplex of America is releasing the various anime adaptations of the Monogatari Series in North America.

NisiOisin's Katanagatari novel project also inspired a television anime series, and his Medaka Box manga with artist Akira Akatsuki spawned two television anime seasons. NisiOisin's Okitegami Kyōko no Bibōroku (The Notebook of Kyōko Okitegami) novel inspired a live-action television series and manga series last fall. NisiOisin's website announced an anime project for his Zaregoto novel series in May.

Update: As of June 6, Amazon listed the novel with a July 28 release date, instead of the originally announced July 29 release from NisiOisin's Twitter account. The article's text has been amended accordingly. [Via Ota-suke]
