Kiss Him, Not Me Anime Reveals October 6 Debut, New Visual

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website for the television anime of Junko's Kiss Him, Not Me (Watashi ga Motete Dōsunda) manga revealed on Tuesday that the anime will premiere late-night on TBS and CBC on October 6 at 1:58 a.m. and 2:54 a.m., respectively (effectively, October 7 on both times). It will then air on Sun TV on October 7, and BS-TBS on October 8. The site also unveiled a new visual for the series.

In addition, the main male cast — Yūki Ono, Keisuke Kōmoto, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and Nobunaga Shimazaki — will appear in a YouTube program titled "Yon x Go x Roku x Nana" (4 x 5 x 6 x 7) on October 12, with a preview on September 21.

The CD single for "Prince x Prince," the anime's opening theme song by From4to7 (the anime's main male cast), is slated for November 23. "Doki Doki no Kaze" (Heartbeat's Wind), the ending theme by Rie Murakawa, is slated for November 2.

An advance screening of the first episode will take place at Tokyo's Kagaku Gijutsukan Science Hall on September 19.

Crunchyroll is releasing chapters of the manga in North America as Kodansha publishes them in Japan, and it describes the story:

Kae Serinuma is what you'd call a "fujoshi." When she sees boys getting along with each other, she loves to indulge in wild fantasies! One day her favorite anime character dies and the shock causes her to lose a ton of weight. Then four hot guys at school ask her out, but that isn't exciting to her at all — she'd rather see them date each other!

The cast includes:

  • Yū Kobayashi as Kae Serinuma
  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Hayato Shinomiya
  • Yūki Ono as Yūsuke Igarashi
  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Asuma Mutsumi
  • Keisuke Kōmoto as Nozomu Nanashima
  • Miyuki Sawashiro as Shima Nishina

Hiroshi Ishiodori (Peach Girl, Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino) is directing the anime at Brains Base. Michiko Yokote (Shirobako, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Dagashi Kashi) is in charge of series composition. Kazuhiko Tamura (Gunparade Orchestra, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~Next Season~, Kyōkai no Rinne) is designing the characters for animation. Mina Ōsawa (Actually, I Am…, Nurse Witch Komugi R) is the chief animation director.

Junko began the manga in Bessatsu Friend in 2013. Kodansha USA is publishing the series in North America.
