Vanishing Starlight Manga Based on Sound Horizon Single Ends '1st Part'

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The August issue of Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine published the final chapter in the "first part" of Ako Arisaka's (KADO - The Right Answer character designer) Vanishing Starlight manga on Monday. The issue didn't clarify if or when the next part will start. The manga's second compiled volume will ship on July 26.

The manga is based on musical act Sound Horizon's single of the same name, and commemorates the group's 10th anniversary. The manga centers on Noel, a musician and band member of the "VANISHING STARLIGHT" band who has hit a writer's block. It is then that he meets a man wearing black clothes and sunglasses at night, calling out to him. While Noel confronts him with hostility, the man only smiles.

Arisaka launched the manga in Shōnen Ace in October 2014. Kadokawa published the manga's first compiled book volume last August. The single also has two novel adaptations; the second novel shipped on Monday.

Sound Horizon, led by composer Revo, gained new fans when they created the theme songs for the Attack on Titan anime under the name Linked Horizon. They also performed a new theme song for the anime's second season.

The manga Roman, Moira and Elysion: Futatsu no Rakuen o Mawaru Monogatari are all inspired by Sound Horizon albums of the same name.
