Umbrella Ent. Releases Tokyo Godfathers on Blu-ray in Australia

Australian film distributor Umbrella Entertainment announced on June 26 that it will release a Blu-ray Disc of Satoshi Kon's Tokyo Godfathers film. The distributor noted that the release will be the first Blu-ray Disc release of the film outside of Japan with English subtitles. The company didn't state a release date for the Blu-ray Disc.

Kon's film debuted in 2003. The film opened in Japan in November that year, and Columbia Tristar opened the film in the United States in December of that year. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the film on DVD in North America in 2004. In Japan, the film received a Blu-ray Disc release in 2012.
