Dentsu, OLM Consult on Nelvana's D.N.Ace Animation

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Canadian media company Corus Entertainment announced on November 14 that its subsidiary Nelvana will work on an original animated series titled D.N.Ace, and it will have the companies Dentsu and Oriental Light and Magic (OLM) serve as consultants for the project. Dentsu and OLM will also represent the project in Japan.

Matt Wexler created the project and is credited as executive producer. It will air on Teletoon in Canada and is is slated for 40 22-minute episodes. Corus Entertainment describes the story:

The series follows curious, adventure-loving, mischief-making, proudly nerdy, 12-year-old Ace Ripley who suddenly learns he holds an incredible ability to manipulate DNA by fusing the genes of a living thing with any other thing, to create something entirely new. The hero-in-the-making uses his newfound power to create ridiculous, amazing, and even terrifying mash-ed up creatures, and tries to save his town from total chaos while trying to have the time of his life.

Nelvana localized the seven Beyblade anime prior to Beyblade Burst, after which Sunrights took over the localization. Nelvana has also produced the BeyWheelz and BeyWarriors: BeyRaiderz Western-exclusive animated spinoff series. A third spinoff series, BeyWarriors Cyborg ran in English on Toonami Asia but was never released in North America.
