Robot × Laserbeam Manga Has 460,000 Combined Print Copies, Digital Sales

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

The wraparound jacket band on the third volume of Tadatoshi Fujimaki's Robot × Laserbeam manga is revealing on Monday that the manga has 460,000 copies in circulation, including print numbers and digital sales totals.

The manga centers on a boy who is nicknamed "Robo" because he shows no emotion and acts like a machine. When his only friend tries golf and is bullied by more experienced players, Robo accepts a challenge to take up a golf club himself, and his methodical nature works to his advantage.

Fujimaki launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump on March 18.

Viz Media published the first three chapters of the manga in English in its Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine as part of its Jump Start initiative, and then added the manga to its weekly lineup in April.

Fujimaki serialized his Kuroko's Basketball manga in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2008-2014.
