posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The January issue of Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Garden magazine revealed on Tuesday that Kore Yamazaki's The Ancient Magus' Bride manga has 5 million copies in print.

Yamazaki launched the manga in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Blade magazine in November 2013, and transferred it to Monthly Comic Garden in September 2014, after the magazine ceased publication. Mag Garden published the manga's eighth compiled book volume on September 8.

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in North America, and shipped the manga's seventh volume on July 4. The company also released two supplement books for the manga on July 10 and August 10.

The manga is inspiring a television anime adaptation that premiered in Japan on October 7, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series in Japanese with English subtitles. Funimation began streaming an English dub for the series on October 30. The manga also inspired a prequel OVA series titled The Ancient Magus' Bride: Those Awaiting a Star. The OVA's three episodes debuted in August 2016, February 2017, and August 2017.
