Hataraku Saikin Manga Has 'Big News' on February 2

posted on by Alex Mateo

The February issue of Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine revealed on December 29 that Haruyuki Kichida's Hataraku Saikin (Bacteria at Work) manga spinoff of Akane Shimizu's Cells at Work! (Hataraku Saibō) manga will have "big news" for the manga in the magazine's next issue on February 2.

Kodansha will ship the Hataraku Saikin manga's first compiled volume on February 9.

Kichida launched the spinoff manga in Nakayoshi last April. Shimizu is supervising the spinoff. The manga is a comedy focusing on personified good bacteria and bad bacteria waging battle in the intestines.

Kodansha Comics is publishing the original Cells at Work! manga in English.

Shimizu launched the Cells at Work! manga in the March 2015 issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius, and Kodansha shipped the fifth compiled volume in Japan on August 9. Kodansha Comics shipped the manga's fourth volume on May 2. The manga ranked on the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook's 2016 list of top graphic novels for male readers. Moe Sugimoto launched another spinoff manga titled titled Hatarakanai Saibō (Cells That Don't Work) last July.
