4th anime season in High School DxD franchise

The official website for High School DxD Hero, the fourth season of the High School DxD television anime series, updated on Friday with the anime's April 10 premiere date, character designs, and a new visual.

The anime will premiere on the AT-X channel on Tuesday, April 10 at 11:00 p.m., and then it will run on the Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, and BS11 channels. It will also stream on the AbemaTV service from Tuesday, April 10 at 24:00 (effectively midnight the next day), followed by other streaming services.

The Niconico Live service will stream the previous three High School DxD anime series between March 12 and March 17. Then, Tokyo's Shinjuku Piccadilly theater will host a "Premium Party" advance screening of the first episode, along with a talk show with cast members Yūki Kaji, Yōko Hikasa, Azumi Asakura, and Shizuka Itou, on March 30 at 8:00 p.m.

The series will feature a returning cast:

Yūki Kaji as Issei Hyōdō

Yōko Hikasa as Rias Gremory

Azumi Asakura as Asia Argento

Shizuka Itou as Akeno Himejima

Ayana Taketatsu as Koneko Tōjō

Kenji Nojima as Yūto Kiba

Risa Taneda as Xenovia

Maaya Uchida as Irina Shidō

Ayane Sakura as Gasper Vlady

Ai Kakuma as Rossweisse

Yoshifumi Sueda (Rail Wars!, episode director for Gosick, MAOYU, So, I Can't Play H!) is directing the series at Passione (Haitai Nanafa, Hinako Note, Rail Wars!). Kenji Konuta (Blood Lad, Servamp, Library War) is handling the series composition, and Makoto Uno (The Qwaser of Stigmata, Rail Wars!, Love Hina) is the character designer.

Minami performs the opening theme song "Switch," and Tapimiru performs the ending theme song "Motenai Kuseni (';ω;´)" (Even Though I'm Not Popular).

Author Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrator Miyama-Zero's High School DxD light novel series previously inspired three television anime series. Tetsuya Yanagisawa had directed all three series at TNK.

The light novel series centers on Issei Hyōdō, a dim-witted, lecherous second-year high school student who is killed by a girl on his first date ever. Issei is reincarnated as a devil, and from that day forward, he serves as an underling of Rias, a high-level devil who is also the prettiest girl on Issei's campus.

Ishibumi and Miyama-Zero launched the series in 2008, and Kadokawa released the 24th novel volume on November 17. The 25th volume will ship on March 20.

The first anime adaptation premiered in Japan in 2012, and the second series, High School DxD New, premiered in July 2013. The third series, High School DxD BorN, premiered in April 2015. FUNimation Entertainment released all three series on home video in North America.
