Persona 5 Game Sells 2.2 Million Units Worldwide

Sega Sammy Holdings revealed in its "Road to 2020" business recap presentation on Monday that Atlus' Persona 5 role-playing game has sold 2.2 million copies worldwide.

The game had sold more than 2 million copies worldwide as of December 1.

The latest entry in the Persona role-playing game series shipped for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan in September 2016. The game shipped in North America on April 4 after a delay. The game featured animation sequences from the Production I.G studio.

The Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers- prologue anime special from A-1 Pictures aired in September 2016. The television anime adaptation from A-1 Pictures premiered on April 7 and is streaming on Crunchyroll and Hulu. The game is also getting a Persona 5 Dancing Star Night rhythm game for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in spring 2018.
