Pokémon GO Cancels Events in Hokkaido Only (Updated)
posted on by Karen Ressler
The official Japanese Twitter account for Pokémon GO announced on Friday that the Moltres Day event scheduled for Saturday and an EX Raid scheduled for for September 10 have been cancelled in Japan's Hokkaido region due to the major earthquake that hit Hokkaido on Thursday.
The Moltres Day event will take place internationally, allowing players to catch Legendary Pokémon Moltres in Raid Battles.
The event is not delayed in any other regions, though western Japan also suffered a natural disaster this week. Typhoon Jebi, the strongest typhoon to hit Japan's mainland since 1993, landed in Tokushima prefecture on Tuesday.
