Earth Defense Force 5 Game's Western Release Slated for December 11

D3 Publisher Inc. revealed on Thursday that it will release the Earth Defense Force 5 PlayStation 4 game in the WEST. on December 11.

D3 Publisher describes the game:

Earth Defense Force 5 finds players taking up arms to defend Earth against a hostile alien invasion. In addition to hordes of alien insect invaders the series is famous for, the next installment in the fan favorite franchise also introduces a series-first with new humanoid aliens from the mysterious planet, Primer. Join the elite ranks of the EDF for an all-out war to protect peace on Earth -- and overcome the depths of despair of a world under siege with wisdom, courage, and fellow comrades.

Digital pre-orders are available on the PlayStation Store for both a standard and deluxe edition. The deluxe edition for US$89.99 includes a PS4 theme, a "Decoy launcher [Pale Wing]" and "Star Burst," 12 variations of additional weapons and support arms, and two mission packs that will be available post launch.

The game launched in Japan last December. The game was initially slated for summer 2017 but D3 Publisher delayed the game to improve its quality.

D3 Publisher will also release the Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain PlayStation 4 game in the WEST. in 2019. The game is also slated for 2019 in Japan, delayed from its original release window of 2018.
