Pop Team Epic TV Special's Returning Staff Listed

This year's November issue of Animage magazine listed the main staff for the upcoming Pop Team Epic television special on Wednesday. Kamikaze Douga is returning to produce the animation, Jun Aoki is returning as director and writer, and Aoi Umeki is returning as director and concept designer.
While Kamikaze Douga was credited with the overall animation production of the earlier television anime series, the series consisted of segments produced at multiple studios. The staff have not announced any information about the content of the special.
The special will air on April 1, 2019, the second anniversary of the original announcement for the anime adaptation.
The earlier Pop Team Epic television anime series premiered on January 6. HIDIVE, Funimation, Crunchyroll, AsianCrush, and Amazon Prime Video all streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Adult Swim's Toonami block began airing Pop Team Epic beginning the night of June 30.
The anime adapts a surreal four-panel manga by Bkub Okawa that centers around two 14-year-old girls, the short Popuko and the tall Pipimi.
