We asked photographer LEANNE, "What tips can you offer cosplayers to get the shots that they want?"
"Study up your characters and take the extra time to talk with your photographer and either discuss what you want, or just talk until you're comfortable. It's a team effort to make you and your outfit look the best, but if you bring ideas to the table it's very helpful. Make sure you keep your mind open to suggestions, and listen to your photographer for guidance. Usually if there's a pose we don't like, but you do, we'll take a few pictures of that one and repose. My personal biggest suggestion is to hold a pose until your photographer 'releases' you. We could be waiting for the wind to change, changing our position, or pondering the best angle to shoot you with that particular pose. "
About the photo shoot:
"Cassidy hired me back when I first started and one of the photos I took back then got a bunch of views. Since then we've went on to work together about once a year, we work great together and have so much fun! This shoot was actually done during what us locals jokingly call "Apocalypse Con". There was a flood that put a good deal of the area under water and wiped out entire roads, and during this particular shoot we had a fire evacuation, tornado warning and flood watch. Luckily she had a corner room and we could just shoot in her room!"
