The Japanese way to pronounce Mazinger Z is Majinga Zetto

First in the history of Japanese T.V./Film to feature a giant robot as a vehicle, meaning that its pilot controls it from the inside.

The Hover Pilder may be the inspiration for the FF-X7 Core Fighter from "Mobile Suit Gundam". Both vehicles contain the title robots' cockpits and control the robots themselves once docked inside.

Mazinger Z is the only Giant robot to appear in every installment of the video game series "Super Robot Wars".

Influence for the 1976 South Korean film "Robot Taekwon V", which was mistaken by many people outside Korea for an attempt to plagiarize both "Mazinger Z" and "Great Mazinger".

The English verison title Tranzor Z was done by 3B productions, producted and license by Bunker Jenkins in 1984. Names was change, suggestive scenes was edited, footage of Great Mazinger was shown fill on for the deleted footage. Aired as an daily Syndication, airing only 65 episodes.

Episode 1 features some of Akira Ifukube's music from The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon when Mazinger Z is first activated.
