In ep 3, around 4:00 you can clearly see in the background wall on the left the "Starry night" by post-impressionest artist Vincent van Gogh, and in the middle a "Self-portrait" of himself.
In the last episode when Kon visited her at the hospital Hotori told a story about her dad "dumping 3,400 yen into the donation box" yet the Spirit Guide who accompanied her in Heaven mentioned that once Hotori returns to the land of the living she'll lose all of her memories of her time spent there. It is undetermined if Hotori got to talk to her family first (upon which her dad could've told her that story) before Kon's visit.
In episode 3 at around 8:35, Hotori has an epiphany in the same way that Zetsubou sensei exclaims his despair in Shaft's Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
In episode 4, at about 12:00, Moriaki is seen inside a car waering a seat belt with a white cover labelled “Manshin Tigers”. This a parody of the “Hanshin Tigers” (阪神タイガース); one of the biggest major league baseball teams in Japan.

In Episode 6, in Kon-senpai's room, Hotori finds a red guitar similar to Yui's in the popular series K-On! and shouts out the word GITAH, the same name that Yui has for her guitar. Its also ironic and a play on words due to the fact that Kon's name is similar to K-On!
