Episode 1, the title "Sempai and Ichigoichie" (lit. Sempai and the Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity) is using the Japanese title for the Tom Hanks film Forrest Gump.

Episode 2, "Sempai and the Carribean" is a reference to Disney's "Pirates of the Carribean" films starring Johnny Depp.

Episode 3, "Sempai to ōgonkyōjidai" is the Japanese translated title for "The Gold Rush" starring Charlie Chaplin.

Episode 4, "Sempai and The Goonies" references the 1985 film starring Sean Astin.

Episode 5, "Senpai to DENGEKI" references the Japanese title for the 2001 film "Exit Wounds" starring Steven Seagal.

Episode 6, "Sempai and Waterworld" references the notorious flop "Waterworld" from 1995.
