In ep 9 at 8:59 Ugokoro-kun's station master outfit is similar to the one worn by the 999 Conductor in Galaxy Express 999. For example, the hat is a similar shape and they both have red and gold collars and two rows of gold buttons down the coat.

In episode 11, at about 06:13, Nana and her friends stand in front of a big white mannequin. The mannequin is called Nana chan doll (ナナちゃん人形) and is located in front of the Meitetsu Department Store in Meitetsu Nagoya Station (名鉄名古屋駅). It was erected in 1973 and is considered one of the most famous meeting spots in the entire city.

In episode 11, the green roofed building that appears initially at about 06:19 and at various other times after that is Nagoya Castle (名古屋城).

In episode 11, at about 19:56, Yukari and Nanako get to see a ferris wheel while riding inside a taxi. The ferris wheel they see is the one attached to the Sunshine Sakae building (サンシャインサカエ) in the Sakae area of central Nagoya. The building is a major shopping and entertainment centre in the city.

In episode 12, around 20:13, just in time for Nagarekawa Girls to return on their home town when Nanako's uncle impersonating the "King of Rock and Roll" Elvis Presley just to keep the crowd entertained during their town festival.
