Trivia:

The manga shop the cast works at, Umanohone, is a play off Toranoana, a major manga chain store in Japan.

In ep 5 at 18:58 the art style and Kantoku giving Hio tan a noogie is a reference to Crayon Shin-chan.

In the first episode, in the ad of Umanohone, a reference to the doujinshi Kuso Miso Technique appears with Takazaku (face covered with Uma's logo) unzips his jumpsuit while showing a doujinshi. This reference incidentally occurs at the ad of Uma's doujinshi section.

In ep 7, a Shingeki no Ojisan (Attack on Uncle) festival is occurring at the hot spring they visit. This is a parody of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). The goods featured have a nude middle aged man, with the exception of a tie, running in the same manner as one of the titans. There is even an oversized ojisan overlooking one of the display walls in the same manner as the colossal titan.

In ep 10 at 23:47 Uma kun's manga recommendation is a yaoi parody of the Prince of Tennis (Tenisu no Ōjisama) called Prince of the Shuttlecock (Shatoru no Ōjisama).

In ep 11 at 7:58 there is an erohon manga parody of Doraemon. Instead of blue robot cat he is depicted as a pink female with cat ears and Nobita is blonde with a lustful facial expression.

In Episode 7, while at the "Oeda Onsen Monogatari" bath house, we are shown a wide selection of baths that are presented via framed pictures. One bath, the "Hot Watered Pool" (which one of the girls called "eroi wa ne"), is the infamous/famous あのプール or "ano pool" ("that pool") or 例のプール or "rei no pool" ("the usual pool"), as it is called in Japan. "The Pool" became known widespread (not just in Japan) because it was always a featured location in many AV films.

In Episode 8, while at Sensei-san's house when they are about to start the meeting, Hio-tan starts by doing the famous "Gendo Pose".

In episode 12, the characters all dress up as anime and game characters their voice actors played in other works. Sensei dresses up as Yui from Yuruyuri, Hiotan as Miku from The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls, Kameki as Mio from Nichijou, Kantoku as Kirito from Sword Art Online, Sommelier as Brooke from Outbreak Company, Tsumorin as Chiya from Is the order a rabbit?, and Umio as Maō from The Devil is a Part-Timer!.

In episode 12, G-man cosplays as Misaki Hijiri from Saint October and Fu Girl as Azusa Nakano from K-On.
