Trivia:

Aoi's favorite childhood anime, "Andes Chucky," is a reference to the 1973 NHK World Masterpiece Theater "Rocky Chuck the Mountain Rat" (山ねずみ ロッキーチャック / Yama Nezumi Rocky Chuck), generally translated as "Fables of Green Forest" after the Thornton W Burgess on which it was based.

In episode 6, the titular "Idepon" anime having a 35th anniversary exhibit is a reference to the extremely influential 1980 anime Space Runaway Ideon, down to the extremely similar logo.

In episode 6, the "Beauty Dreamer" anime an animator mentions as inspiring her is a reference to the second Urusei Yatsura movie, Beautiful Dreamer.

In episode 11, at about 18:33, Aoi is seen looking through the window of the fictional animation company B Production. That company is a parody of Shin Ei Animation (シンエイ動画) who used to be called A Production. Censored characters who appeared in various A Production works like Doraemon (ドラえもん) or Crayon Shin chan (クレヨンしんちゃん) appear working inside the building a few seconds before that.

In episode 11, at about 18:45, Aoi is seen looking through the window of the fictional animation company SUNUP. That company is a parody of Sunrise (サンライズ). Sunrise is famous for producing tons of mecha titles and censored mecha that appeared in various past Sunrise works like Gundam (ガンダム) appear working inside the building a few seconds after that.

In episode 11, at about 22:12, Masato asks Aoi if she knows the animator Kanno Mitsuaki. Kanno Mitsuaki is a reference to Anno Hideaki (庵野秀明); the director and creator of the 1995 science fiction anime Neon Genesis Evangelion (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン).

In episode 13, at around 18:56 the background has a poster with characters resembling characters from Kill la Kill.
