Punch Line (TV)

The name of the mysterious book "Nandara Kandara", aside from sounding Indian, is also suspiciously similar to the Japanese term "Nanchara kanchara" (なんちゃらかんちゃら), which is equivalebt to "blah blah" or "babble" (a lot of talk that is meaningless to the listener).
Most of the Character names have meaningful puns in them: Yūta Iridatsu sounds the same as "Yūtai Ridatsu" (幽体離脱), meaning an out-of-body experience or astral projection. Narugino Mikatan, because of the alternative reading "sei" for the Kanji 成, can be read as "Seigi no Mikata(n)" (正義の味方), which means "a friend of justice". "Mikatan" also sounds similar to 蜜柑 (mikan), japanese tangerines. Hikiotani Ito sounds like "Hiki-ota-niito" (ヒキオタニート), a combination of "Hikikomori" (shut-in), "Otaku" and "NEET". Daihatsu Meika sounds like "Daihatsumei-ka" (大発明家), meaning "Great Inventor". Chichibu Rabura becomes "Chichi burabura" (乳ブラブラ), which means "dangling breast". Chiranosuke includes "チラ" (chira), which is a soundword used when something beneath the clothes is visible for an instant.
In addition to the puns mentioned in the note above, Meika's first name, when written in Katakana, is メーカー. That also happens to be the way to write the English word “Maker” in Japanese. This pun is a reference to Meika's exceptional abilities as an inventor.
