In episode 1, Gengai and Hasegawa's deaths are a parody of Raditz and Goku's in Dragon Ball Z.

In episode 1, Gintoki's press conference was a parody of real life japanese politician Ryutaro Nonomura's infamous bawling during press conference

In episode 1, Gintoki says "Psycho-Pass" when he is hit with a flying object during the fake press conference. This is a direct reference to the anime Psycho-Pass

In episode 2, one of the death scenes shown in the explanation is a parody of Death Note.

In episode 4, Tsukuyo calls Gintoki Koro-sensei, a reference to Assassination Classroom. The next scene features Gintoki turned into the alien teacher, and his voice actor Tomokazu Sugita does an impression of the character. Sugita also plays the character Karasuma in the Assassination Classroom.

In episode 5, the entire concept of the ninja system with Genin, Chunin, Jonin, and Hokage is a reference to Naruto. Naruto and the other characters are directly called out by Yamazaki.

In episode 6, the character Tasuke Kurokono is a direct reference to Kuroko from the manga Kuroko's Basketball (Kuroko no Basuke). His faint presence is also a reference to the original character. The character is even voiced by Kensho Ono, who voices Kuroko in the manga's anime adaptation.
