The first half of the anime is a prequel to the manga by Shinjo Mayu, and focuses on the band. The second half follows the manga storyline, and thus the focus shifts to Sakuya & Aine.
Sakuya has blue eyes because he is only half Japanese. In Japan, this would make him stand out in a crowd.
Lucifer (sometimes spelt Λucifer) is a "visual kei" band. "Visual Kei" bands are similar to western glam rock bands, in that they put great importance on fashion and looks, as well as music. This explains why the members of Lucifer (particularly Towa) often wear flamboyant outfits.
Due to the popularity of the anime, a real live group called Lucifer was formed. The members of this group took the names of the anime's characters, except for the lead singer, who called himself Makoto. They released several cds & singles, as well as a concert DVD, before breaking up around 2003.
Though the english version of the manga translates "Kaikan" as "Sensual", it can also be translated as "Ectsasy".
