Trivia:

Throughout the film, there are views of both a Silverhawks pinball machine, and a Thundercats pinball machine, both refrences to the other shows AIC was helping to produce at the time.

Megazone 23 Part II actually has an alternate ending with no dialogue. It was included on the out-of-print Japanese Megazone 23 Dvd Box and Laserdisc. It is where Shogo hijacks a military jet in order to defeat B.D.'s plans. This alternate ending had been animated for the Robotech: The Movie.

Part II holds little resemblance to the character designs seen in Part I. The traditional animation style was abandoned in favour of a more experimental, realistic looking, design style.

Part II contains more explicit scenes of violence and sex than its predecessor.

When the International dub of Part 2 was released in Japan, it was edited so the scenes of graphic violence and sex were cut out.

The International dub was marketed to teaching English to Japanese audiences.

Yui Takanaka's new design was based on idol singer Sonoko Kawai.

Cyndi's design was based on singer Cyndi Lauper.

Dump's design was based on pro wrestler Dump Matsumoto.

Reina's design was modeled after singer Madonna.

Yuichiro Shiratori's design was based on actor Tetsuya Watari.
