Trivia:

Although intended for more than one season, Mighty Orbots was hastily cancelled after a publicized lawsuit from Tonka, claiming infringment on the Go-Bots brand of toys.

The Mighty Orbots unit is virtually identical to GodMars - only with different colors.

Prior to the production of Mighty Orbots, an unaired six-minute "pilot episode" titled Broots was made. While Rob and Ohno looked the same, the Orbots (known in this video as "Broots") had an unfinished look compared to the final product.

Earth being the seat of the United Planets in the 23rd century is an homage to the United Federation of Planets (a.k.a. Starfleet) in the Star Trek franchise.

The Orbot names Tor and Bort are a play on the word "robot".

Tor's voice is patterned after the Muppet Link Hogthrob of Pigs in Space fame.

Bort's voice and personality are patterned after comedian Lou Costello.

In episode 1, Bo and Boo mention they are going to watch a Disaster Area concert. Disaster Area is a rock band from the British sci-fi series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The Dremloks in episode 4 are a nod to the Ewoks from the Star Wars franchise.

In episode 13, the final battle theme is taken from the soundtrack of Lensman.
