It takes place during the Heian Period, when evil spirits resided in forests, mountains and rivers. Vice of all kinds was rampant. There was a girl who accompanied her loved one and battled against those evils while disguised as man. This brave one, with "Flames" tattooed onto her upper arm, was one of the "Four Devas." Her name was Kaidomaru. She fights for her love, Minamoto Yorimitsu, who sacrifices his life to protect Kyoto (the capital) from the evil doings of a "princess," who has been cursed by a malicious ogre. The princess, whom Kaidomaru used to play with as a child, is now her ultimate enemy of life.
