Trivia:

Most characters have a kanji of an animal in their names, such as "Sagi" means heron. Others have fox, pig, horse, turtle, sparid, butterfly, cow, etc.

In Japan, Paranoia Agent was aired late at night on a Satelite channel because it was deemed unfit for public television.

The opening theme is "unsual" because Paranoia Agent was being broadcasted late at night and the creators knew that people would be drowsy when they were watching, so the opening theme was designed to wake you up before the show began

In a way, almost every character is in some way connected. They all also seem to have slight connections with Maromi at one point or another.

At the beginning of the first episode, there's an old man writing a lot of cryptic equations on the ground of a parking lot. The final number he writes (after the equal sign) is 510. This is Tsukiko's hospital room number, and also her apartment number

The toy robot that is in the back of the classroom (at least in episode 2) is a model of the Gundam robot from the famous gundam series.

The RPG being spoofed in episode 5 is most likely Dragon Quest(Warrior). The hero in the show and the game both wear blue armor. Although it also has elements from Zelda(winged shoes) and Nausicaa(giant winged insects).

In episode 8, part of the episode was cut for the UK home release due to broadcasting rules regarding showing suicide. The scene in question jumps from Zebra setting-up the nooses to Zebra and Fuyubachi running down the hill after their attempt failed.

The 3 gossiping women who appear in episode 9 and the nurse seen in the hospital scenes all have appearances in Tokyo Godfathers, another film by Satoshi Kon

The mini-storyline depicted in episode 9 between Akiko and her sempai is, as one of the housewives noted, actually a direct recreation of the famous story "The Last Leaf" by William Sydney Porter (more commonly known by his penname, O'Henry).

In Episode 11, No Entry, people are talking about Lil' Slugger and the changes he's gone through. Someone mentions he looks like a demon now. The image they show to represent the demon is everybody's favorite sci-fi pig species; the Gamorrean from Star Wars.
