Trivia:

Square-Enix announced on 15 Sep 2004 that an Advent Children sequel is already being made. It's a game for PlayStation 2 entitled "FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus". The story of "Dirge of Cerberus" takes place 1 year after Advent Children. It features Vincent as the main character.

"Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" is a second part of "Complilation of Final Fantasy VII". Although, it was the first part of Compilation ever revealed. Few months after information about AC Square-Enix released some information about FFVII: Before Crisis game and announced that AC and BC are parts of Compilation of FFVII. And because "Before Crisis" was released long before "Advent Children" did BC is official "First Part of Compilation of Final Fantasy VII".

According to Shinji Hashimoto, film producer, Advent Children was initially meant to be only a collection of clips but it has become quite long so Square-Enix decided to make it a whole new sequel to Final FAntasy VII.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children isn't the first ff movie which continues one of Final Fantasy series part plot. Although FF: Spirits Within and FF: Unlimited were separated stories, there was also Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals anime which continues Final Fantasy V story.

Cloud's weapon is called "First Sword", Kadaj' weapon is called "Souba", Yazoo's weapon is called "Velvet Nightmare", Loz' weapon is called "Dual Hound", Vincent's weapon is called "Cerberus", and Sephiroth's weapon is called "Masamune"

In every one of Cloud's battles, except for the opening motorcycle chase, Cloud uses at least one "Limit Break" technique from the game. Tifa also uses a Limit Break in her first battle.

If you look closely at the sign of the shrine torn down by Bahamut (the summon of Kadaj), it says "Keep on rocking in Midgar"

Though Sephiroth calls Jenova his mother, she is not actually the one who birth him. Lucrecia Crescent, the woman whom Vincent fell in love with was impregnated by Hojo, the mad scientist behind Vincent and Cloud's experiments. This, of course, makes Sephiroth's father Hojo and his mother Lucrecia. However, since Hojo injected so many Jenova cells into Sephiroth while in the womb, she could be considered a second mother.

Recognize that ringtone? When Loz answers his cellphone after defeating Tifa in the church, the tune that plays is the "Victory Fanfare" theme from the original Final Fantasy VII game, which traditionally played after the player defeated an enemy.

The original advent children movie was only supposed to be 20 minutes long, however when news of the movie got out, there was so much hype about it that the director decided to make this.
