In the scene where Hikaru blasts his way through Bodolza's ship, a missile painted to look like a Budweiser can appears on one frame of the animation. Another missile is labeled Tako Hai (an alcoholic beverage which literally translates as "Octopus Highball").
The English dub released by Best Video was produced in Japan, using Japanese voice actors and targeted at the Japanese market.

The 1998 videogame adaptation of this film for the Sony PlayStation features an all-new introduction and additional footage exclusive to the game.
