Trivia:

Golden Boy was based off Tatsuya Egawa's manga. The OVA is way toned down from its manga counterpart, which by volume 2, started becoming an adults-only manga.

Members of the staff behind producing Golden Boy were, in fact, quite nervous about reactions to the show, which featured scenes where the only thing moving were breasts.

This OVA-series is based on the first of ten Golden Boy mangas. The other mangas are much more coherent.

Kintaro Oe's trusty bicycle is named the Crescent Moon.

Episode 3 of this mini-series included a homage to Yamato from "Space batleship Yamato" (Star Blazers), but pay attention to design changes linking to one another.

At 17:44 of the third anime in this series, if you look to the left of Noriko's back, you will see volume 1 of the manga itself laying at the foot of the bed.

In episode 1, at about 17:25, Kintarou is seen turning off one of the computers in the office. The computer shown is a SPARCStation 20 which was a workstation developed by Sun Microsystems in 1994 and was based on the SuperSPARC CPU. These workstations ran Unix or Linux as their operating system.
