Trivia:

The kind Mother shares her name with that of a small town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, also called Altena.

Mireille's firearm is a Walther P99, the same handgun that is used by Jet Black in Cowboy Bebop.

Episode 12, playing in Switzerland (in French: Suisse), shows the "Matterhorn", a famous Swiss mountain in the Alps. The flowers, f.e. "Enzian", "Butterblume" and "Edelweiss" (names in German) really exist, too.

Kirika uses a Beretta Model 1934 in 9x17mm (9mm Short).

In the beginning of the ep. 10 ("The true Noir"), you can notice three titles of real-life French newspaper : - the first two, on a newsstand, are daily newspapers named "Le Monde" and (half-cut on the image) "Libération" ("The World" and "Release"), that respectively and subliminally support the right and the left wings ; - the third one, on Mireille's computer desk, is "Le Canard Enchaîné" ("The chained-up duck"), a weekly satirical left-wing supporting newspaper that is sold every Wednesday. It is to be precised that : first, in French, the word "Canard" is also a familiar way to name a newspaper, and last but not least, in the anime, the first page exactly uses the same characters fonts and page setup as the real one (the two ducks on both sides of the logotype are to contain a sentence, often with a pun, that refers to one of last week's main events...

Despite the numerous shooting and stabbing deaths in each episode, there is virtually no blood shown throughout the entire series.

Spot the Shameless Plug: In episode 2, Kirika and Mireille are shopping on the streets of Paris. One of the stores is called "Bee Train."

In episode 2, the organization GIGN mentioned stands for Groupe d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale, a real-life French counter-terrorism unit.

In episode 4 ("The Sound of Waves"), Kirira looks at a computer screen which shows the biography for Rosaly Hammond. You can see that Rosaly was born in 1994 and that she is 15 years old. A few scenes earlier, when Rosaly's father tells her to be on the first plane home the next day, she asks if she can stay until the day after tomorrow. When her father doesn't realize why, she reminds him it's the day his daughter (Rosaly) was born. That means she will be turning 16 within 2 days. That means that the Noir TV series must take place in the year 2010.

In episode 15 where the story is in Taiwan, Mireille checked background info and news on Taiwan on her computer, yet the news text was on Hunan province of Mainland China. Furthermore, there's no such temple in episode 16 in Taiwan either.
