Trivia:

Subaru Sumeragi and Seishirou Sakurazuka are crossover characters from another of CLAMP's famous works, Tokyo Babylon.

All the shrines and buildings in the anime really do exist, except for Togakushi shrine.

The two groups of “Dragons” correspond to the two major divisions of Kami in Shinto cosmology, the Kunistu (Earthly) and Ametsu (Heavenly) Kami.

Kamui, Sorata, Arashi, Seishirou, Karen, Inuki, Kusanagi and Yuzuriha are in Tsubasa, Reservior Chronicle, Subaru, Seishirou and Hokuto are from Tokyo Babylon.

Arashi keeps her sword inside her left arm. Kurogane in TRC also obtains this ability for his left arm.

In addition the the series making allusions to shinto, the names the two groups fall under (Seven Seals and Seven Angels) is an allusion to the Bible's Book of Revelations. It mentions seven seals breaking from a scroll and seven angels bringing misfortune upon the world at the Apocalypse.

The statue that Shiro Kamui touches to open the heart of divine protection for the sword is the Nike of Samothrace (written "Niche Samotorache" in episode 14), which is considered to be the finest Greek Hellenistic sculpture produced. It is currently on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
