Trivia:

Trinity Blood novelist Sunao Yoshida passed away from a lung blockage at the young age of 34 shortly after the production of the Trinity Blood anime was announced.

The names of the von Neumann brothers (Balthasar, Melchior and Kasper) are a reference to the Magi who sought out Jesus Christ.

The choice of seiyu for William Walter Wordsworth and Isaak Fernand von Kämpfer may be an insider joke: Ohkawa Toru and Fujiwara Keiji also voiced colleagues in Full Metal Alchemist (Roy Mustang and Mäes Hughes).

Abel, Cain, & Seth were named after first three children of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel & Seth, as named in the Bible's book of Genesis.

Trinity Blood shares a few comparisons with other series like Hellsing: Abel/Alucard - Their need to unlock their power by stages (as well as the tendency to proclaim it aloud), as well as the fact that they are both non-humans working for a Christian organization and their ancient origins (terrorizing humans), are the two most obvious similarities.

Another comparison is with Chrno Crusade: Chrno/Abel: Both are "monsters" who wield great power, but fight for Catholics. They also both have pasts they aren't proud of and were/are connected to a villain (Chrno and Aion were once best friends and allies and Abel and Cain are brothers). Rosette/Esther: Both are Catholic soldiers fighting "monsters". In spite of this, they fall in love with a "monster" who is helping them.

Another Comparison would be with Trigun and Nightwalker. Vash the Stampede/Abel: Many viewers find the personality and antics of these characters somewhat familiar, particularly with Abel's tendency to make a fool of himself. He also resembles Vash in that they both had an older woman they held dear killed by their brother. For this, they both hated that brother: Vash hates Knives and Abel hates Cain. While in Nightwalker, Cain/Cain: Apart from having the same name, they are also both villains with a past connection to the protagonist of the story (Nightwalker Cain made Shido a vampire and Trinity Blood Cain is the brother of Abel. Also the vampires of Nightwalker are able to form wepons out of their blood, as the Crusnik can.

While the episode titles are written in English, if one were to write "The Night Lords" in Japanese, it would be "ナイトロード". Coincidentally, this is also the spelling for Abel Nightroad's name.

The city Abel arrives at in episode 3 is not a completely fictional place: it is actually Budapest, the capital of Hungary. (The town is called 'István' in the anime - István, by the way, is the name of Hungary's first king.) Most of the landscapes, places and buildings are real, though naturally there are some modifications here and there.

In episode 7 "Never Land," there are many allusions to the classic tale of Peter Pan. Wendy and Peter are named after two of the main characters of the story. The island (Never Land) is named after Peter Pan's home where children are not allowed to/don't grow up. The children of the island are turned into artificial "fairy" vampires and perform a cooperative attack utilizing the "Tinker bell System" (Tinker bell being Peter Pan's fairy friend). Additionally, two of the other children who live on the island, Tom and Huck, are likely named after Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn; two other classic literary child characters.
