Trivia:

The song heard at the opening and conclusion of the two-part story "Bright Side of Life" (episodes 6-7) is the theme song of "Hyokkori Hyoutanjima", a Japanese children's puppet program broadcast five days a week on NHK from 1964-1969. In the show, which ran for a total of 1224 episodes, a group of children and their teacher are visiting the island of Hyoutanjima when a volcanic eruption causes it to begin moving. They visit many interesting places and meet many interesting people during their voyage on the drifting Hyoutanjima. The show and its theme song would likely be well known to Japanese of Hongou and Inoue's generation.
