Plot Summary: Unico the unicorn has the amazing power to make anyone he meets happy. In this adventure, Unico finds himself with a new friend, a young girl named Cherry. However, Cherry's long lost older brother Toby has finally come home, and is now a misguided apprentice to an insane (and not human) magician named Kuruku. When Cherry's parents get turned into weird, almost zombie-like dolls called living puppets, she and Unico start a quest to the very ends of the earth to get her parents and brother back before Kuruku takes over the world.

Comment:
Unico was originally a manga created by Osamu Tezuka, but the manga (serialized in the Sanrio magazine, "Ririka") and at least two of the movies were owned and copyrighted by Sanrio. However, after Tezuka's death in 1989, the rights for the Unico title were sold back to Tezuka Osamu Productions. Since there is no American branch of Tezuka Osamu Productions, the English version of this movie (as well as the Japanese version which was not availabe to view by the American public) is no longer available, making it a rare anime to find because of this licensing problem.
