Trivia:

The two diners marveling over the quality of the railway club's curry are a parody of the main characters from Oishinbo, a famous comic strip and TV series from the '80s about gourmet cooking.

The seemingly abstract design on top of the railway club's curry tent is a map of a few East Japan Railway Company lines in the metropolitan Tokyo area.

The buildings seen burning on the opening credits in order are The Golden Pavillion (Kinkaku-ji) in Kyoto The Diet building in Tokyo (Kokkai Gijido), Horyuji Temple in Nara (the oldest wooden building in the world) and Roppongi Hills Luxury Apartment Towers in Tokyo.

Pipiru, Pirupiru, and Pipirupi are named for the magic words, "Pi piru piru pi piru pi," spoken by Dokuro-chan in the TV anime "Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan."

Punie sings "Lyrical, Tokarev, Kill Them All!" (リリカル・トカレフ・キルゼムオール) as her incantation to activate her magic pendant. Tokarev here is the name a pistol manufactured by the Russians for use in their military in the 1930s. The Tokarev has also appeared in many other anime works, such as Black Lagoon, MONSTER and Bokurano in one way or another.

In episode 4, Punie's mother mentions that in order to become Queen of Magical Land, she had to defeat many other witches. She names Akko, Sally, Megu, and Momo as some of the witches she needed to beat before claiming the throne. These are almost certainly references to the heroines of four old magical girl anime: Himitsu no Akko-chan, Mahou Tsukai Sally, Majokko Megu-chan, and Mahou no Princess Minky Momo respectively.

In episode 5 when Paya-Tan and Peter talks about the army we are shown a clip when Paya-Tan shots a girl with braids. that scene comes from Full Metal Jacket.

In episode 7,on the sports festival when Anego is imagining things, around 03:29 that scene is a reference to facehugger and chestburster scene from Alien movies.
