The rakubi (楽日 or raku 楽 for short) is a term referring to the last or closing performance for a festival or a particular play. It is from the term "senshuuraku" (千秋楽) which means the same thing. In kabuki, the last day tends to be lighthearted with a lot of impromptu and ad-hoc joking by the actors, surprise guests, etc. For that reason they attract a large crowd.
