Trivia:

In the books, Lief's hair is actually black.

In the books, Lief and his friends were having fun around the apple tree, and not the people of Del.

In the books, Filli looks almost like a mouse.

Emily Rodda choose an anime adaptation because she and her kids "love Japanese anime, and want any adaptation of Deltora to be cool"

In episode 4, the riddles posed by the giant were changed. Jasmine's riddle originally had 11 sticks, and was "Change eleven to nine, without removing any sticks" (Answer: The 11 sticks spell out NINE). This was changed to 5 sticks, and was "Change five to three, without removing any sticks" (Answer: The 5 sticks spell out 3 in calculator-text). Barda's riddle was changed completely. The original riddle was "What is it that a beggar has, that a rich man needs, and that the dead eat?" (Answer: Nothing). The riddle in the anime had a scattering of tiles with symbols on them, and Barda was told to make 10 out of them. He noticed the reflection of his sword in a puddle, and cut each of the tiles in half symetrically. One of the tiles fell into two parts that each had the number 5 on them, making 10. Lief's riddles remained the same.
