Trivia:

Manga Entertainment released an edited and dubbed version of Violence Jack on VHS in 1994.

In 1996, Rightstuf released Violence Jack uncut for the first time. Rightstuf created a new label called Critical Mass to handle the release. Both uncut subtitled and dubbed versions were released.

Violence Jack has not been released on DVD in the USA since the license expired under Manga Entertainment.

In his series Anime Abandon, online critic Bennett "Sage" White began teasing the idea of reviewing Violence Jack in late 2011. He and fans began a running joke of the grotesqueness associated with the series; it quickly became his "white whale" and the one series he had forced himself into talking about. On December 21, 2013, Bennett released a video detailing the many reasons why the anime should not be reviewed and a short film detailing the madness he experienced while watching it. The video was met with mixed emotions from fans and creator alike. As of December 2013, Violence Jack is the one title Bennett has openly refused to review.
