At the beginning Hoshi no koe was dubbed by it's creator - Makoto Shinkai - and his fiance - Mika Shinohara. When HnK had became popular in Japan it was dubbed by professional seiyuus.

"Hoshi no Koe" was shown for one month by small theater "Tollywood" in Shimokitazawa (a town in the west area of Tokyo), but the many people who had watched the trailer on the Web thronged there. Tollywood has only 46 seats, but 3000 or more persons watched it through the month.

As the operator of the Lysithea declares that Tarsians are everywhere on Agharta, the screen before Mikako displays their locations on the planet: Cordelia, Ophelia, Bianca, Cressida, Desdemona, Juliet, Portia, Rosalind, Belinda, Puck, Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon. All the names are shared with moons of Uranus and are also female characters from Shakespeare plays except Belinda and Umbriel who are from Alexander Pope's "The Rape of the Lock".

The spacecraft Lysithea is named after one of the moons of Jupiter and is also a name shared by characters from Greek mythology.

Agharta (alternatively Agartha) is a legendary civilisation at the earth's core according to Indian and Tibetan mythology.
