In Episode 6 Patrick Colasour the AEU Ace does a fly by to the tower of the Moralia airbase which resembles that of Top Gun movie where the commander is drinking coffee and he does a fly by.

In episode 12, the Kingdom of Azadistan corresponds geographically with the modern day Iran.

In episode 23, the destroyed Virginia class carrier named the Norfolk is a possible reference to the town of Norfolk, a major city in the state of Virginia. Roanoke is also the name of the first colony set up by the British in the New World (which was a part of the Virginia Colony) and, subsequently, the lives of all the colonists were lost.
