The seiyuu of Lockon Stratos,(Shinichiro Miki) who pilots the sniper-rifle wielding Dynames also voiced another pilot (Kurz Weber) of a mechanized unit with the same equipment type in the Full Metal Panic series. 

The SP on the end of MSJ-06II-SP Tieren Taozi is actually the initials of Soma Peries 

In the last few episodes, Alejandro Corner pilots a mobile suit that bears a striking resemblance to the Hyaku Shiki, a mobile suit from Zeta Gundam. 

The first gundam mobile suit in this series as seen in the first episode, resembles the RX-78-2: The original Mobile Suit Gundam. Likely as a tribute/nod to the original series. 

Setsuna F. Seiei's real name (Soran Ebrahim) is the same as a child Arab actor who plays an orphan child called Satellite in a war-torn Iraqi Kurdistan village in the movie Turtles Can Fly. 

The voice actor for Ribbons Almark is the same voice actor that portrayed Amuro Ray in the original Gundam series. 

In episode 3 the hotel where Wang Liu Mei and Alejandro Corner meet the name is 'Hotel Sunrise' .Sunrise the Animation production company . 

In episode 4, the Republic of Talibia corresponds geographically with the modern day Venezuela. 

In episode 6, the Republic of Moralia corresponds geographically with the modern day Principality of Monaco. 

In Episode 6 Patrick Colasour the AEU Ace does a fly by to the tower of the Moralia airbase which resembles that of Top Gun movie where the commander is drinking coffee and he does a fly by. 

In episode 12, the Kingdom of Azadistan corresponds geographically with the modern day Iran. 

In episode 23, the destroyed Virginia class carrier named the Norfolk is a possible reference to the town of Norfolk, a major city in the state of Virginia. Roanoke is also the name of the first colony set up by the British in the New World (which was a part of the Virginia Colony) and, subsequently, the lives of all the colonists were lost.
