Trivia:

Almost all the characters have last names that match those of distinguished kendoka. They all won at least one time the most important kendo tournament in all japan: the All Japan Kendo Championship. Ishida (there are actually 2 different Ishidas that won the championship), Kawazoe, Nakata, Chiba, Kuwahara, Miyazaki (who won the championship 6 times and ended 2nd place twice) and Eiga are all former Champions. Even some of the other school members have real kendokas names(also former champions): Ishibashi, Ando, Nishiyama, Yokoo, Asakawa, Harada (all from the first school) and even Hayashi and Ogawa (from the second school)

In reality Eiga and Miyazaki saw each others faces in the championships as opponents. In 1999 Miyazaki defeated Eiga in the quarterfinals and the next year Eiga defeated Miyazaki in the final.

The series "Chou Ken Sentai: Blade Braver" is based closely to the classic Tokusatsu show: Akumaizer 3. (the 3 members cross blades in the openning video, the 3 all ride motorcycles)

A self-referential in-joke: In ep. 21, when Saya and Kirino are eating snacks, Saya is wearing a shirt with the logo for "Bamboo Blade".

In the final episode of bamboo blade, at around the last 30 seconds of the episode, Suzuki is shown talking to a girl who then passes Tama by and as they do, they both stop, turn back to look at each other. That girl is actually Ura Sakaki, the character that has Suzuki Rin's role of Tama's rival in the manga since Suzuki is only in the anime.

at 16:20 in episode 7, the collectors item Tama-Chan receives a VHD of "Magross" an obvious reference/parody of Macross. In this case, it is a reference to the VHD of "Macross: Do You Remember Love?" movie from 1987.

In episode 20 during a Chou Sentai Blade Braver episode, Braver Robo uses an attack called "Braver Spin", which is a parody of Chou Denji Robo Combattler V's "Tatsumaki Spin" attack.

At about 1:30 in episode 26, where Tamaki spills some food, you can see the character that was mistaken for Satori Azuma (ep11) on the place mat.
