About:
MTV (Music Television) started out as the world's first TV station dedicated to playing music videos. It was created by a joint venture between Warner Communications and American Express - collectively known as Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment (WASEC). In 1986, MTV Networks was sold to Viacom.

Today, MTV not only plays music videos, but also reality shows, cartoons and other media aimed towards the teenage demographic.
