About:
Owned by G4 Media (a subsidiary of Comcast), G4 is a cable/satellite station geared towards male viewers ages 12-34. Its merger with TechTV on March 24, 2004, sparked controversy as several popular shows from both channels were dropped and hundreds of employees were laid off. Since the merger, G4 has evolved from a videogame channel to a male-oriented channel (geared towards men ages 18-34) in an attempt to compete with FX and Spike TV.
Anime Unleashed was one of two TechTV programs (the other being X-Play) that survived the merger, but was dropped from the lineup on March 16, 2006. An announcement by the show's producers will be made about a possible return of the programming block.
