A young man tries to battle back against giant humanoids who feast on humans in this graphic, visceral, and fantastically intense action/horror story. Its great strengths overcome writing and production value inconsistencies.

If this film causes more permanent damage than most Pokémon outings, that's wholly the fault of its main character, Keldeo.

My-HiME DVD 1
Great execution can overcome even tired jokes and stale plot formulas, as these first four episodes prove. Good pacing and spectacular action scenes highlight a fun series in the spirit of Fullmetal Alchemist but without the dark overtones and heavy baggage.
