Jazz music is much the stars as the main cast in this story about teens who become friends in late 1960s Japan. Great sounds and good character development bolster what is otherwise a fairly pedestrian character drama.
Mermaid Forest DVD 1What this series lacks in quirky charm, it makes up for with intense drama. This is Rumiko Takahashi at her most pessimistic and tragic, but even so, the richness of her ideas makes it hard to turn away.
