If this film causes more permanent damage than most Pokémon outings, that's wholly the fault of its main character, Keldeo.

Jazz music is much the stars as the main cast in this story about teens who become friends in late 1960s Japan. Great sounds and good character development bolster what is otherwise a fairly pedestrian character drama.

House of Five Leaves GN 1
The guarded pace and poignant character interactions in the Edo era makes up for the lackluster execution of the outlaw-activity, which isn't even really a bad thing in itself. This carefully crafted tale might need a little more meat on its bones in volume two but the structure here still holds up with a temperament rewarding of a reader's patience.
