(1909) He founded a company to produce hand-colored slides featuring characters from his Oz books. These were shown while he narrated and an orchestra played background music.

(1919-05-06) After a protracted illness in his gall-bladder and a 24 hour coma, he past away. It was reported that his last words were "Now we can cross the Shifting Sands" a minute before he expired.

(1920) His final Oz written book was published which was titled, "Glinda of Oz".

(1953-03-06) His wife Maud Gage Baum past away.

(2006-08) His descendants went to South Dakota to give an official apology to Native Americans for newspaper editorials that Baum wrote in the late 1800s advocating the wide-scale extermination of all American Indians.
